Anti-Ragging Policy
Introduction
At Acharya Dhrubasha College of Pharmacy (ADCOP), we maintain a zero-tolerance policy towards ragging in any form. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for all students. Ragging is a punishable offense under the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009, and strict disciplinary action will be taken against those found guilty.
What is Ragging?
As per UGC guidelines, ragging includes any act that:
- Harms, intimidates, or harasses fellow students.
- Causes physical or psychological distress.
- Forces a student to perform acts against their will.
- Disrupts a student’s academic or social life.
Forms of Ragging:
- Physical abuse (beating, pushing, forcing activities).
- Verbal abuse (insulting, teasing, humiliating).
- Psychological harassment (threats, bullying, intimidation).
- Forced tasks (singing, dancing, embarrassing acts).
- Cyberbullying through social media or messages.
Strict Prohibition & Legal Consequences
Ragging is strictly banned inside and outside the campus, including hostels, canteens, buses, and common areas.
As per the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and UGC regulations, any student found guilty of ragging will face severe consequences, including:
✔ Expulsion from the institution.
✔ Cancellation of admission & scholarship revocation.
✔ FIR/Lawsuit under applicable laws.
✔ Ban from entering campus/hostel.
Anti-Ragging Committee & Helpline
ADCOP has an active Anti-Ragging Committee responsible for preventing, monitoring, and handling ragging incidents.

Student Responsibilities
✅ Report any ragging incident to college authorities or helpline numbers.
✅ Support victims and encourage a ragging-free campus.
✅ Sign an anti-ragging affidavit (mandatory at the time of admission).
✅ Follow ethical and respectful behavior towards peers.
How to Report a Ragging Incident?
If you or someone you know is a victim of ragging:
✔ Contact the Anti-Ragging Committee or Helpline.
✔ File a complaint in person or via email.
✔ Stay assured of confidentiality and protection from retaliation.
